A hardy and easy to grow variety with a mild aniseed flavour. Russian Tarragon mixes well with salads, poultry and fish. The plants are vigorous and make interesting garden plants. Can be grown in containers or pots in full sun. A less distinct and refined taste than French tarragon but hardier and easy to grow.
Herbs are so easy – you don’t even need a garden! Just a few in pots on the patio or windowsill will add that little extra to a dish.
Approx. 350 seeds
Sow seed 0.5cm (1/4") deep in warm, well prepared, well drained soil, after last spring frost. Germination is 7-28 days. Transplant to larger pots when plants are 10-15cm (4-6") tall. If grown indoors , keep warm (15-20C/60-68F) and water well. Cover with mulch in winter. Great with poultry and fish. If started indoors, harden off prior to transplanting outdoors.
Harvest the leaves and flowers and store in a cool , dry place. Can also be stored in the freezer.
