Cerastium – tomentosum
Cerastium tomentosum, commonly known as “Snow-in-Summer,” is a silvery groundcover prized for its soft, woolly foliage and waves of starry white flowers in late spring. The low, mat-forming habit hugs the soil, while the coarse texture and bright blooms offer contrast in rock gardens, edging, or in between pavers. After blooming, it retains its attractive silvery foliage through much of the season, providing year-round interest. What it lacks in height it makes up for in charm and adaptability—especially in sunny, well-drained spots.
