Hosta – Frances Williams
Bold and legendary, Hosta ‘Frances Williams’ forms a sprawling mound of giant, blue‑green puckered leaves framed by broad chartreuse to golden margins that often widen with age, creating dramatic presence in shaded gardens. The leaves—often as large as dinner plates—feature deeply corrugated texture and leathery thickness, making them highly slug-resistant and durable throughout the season. In early to mid‑summer, tall scapes (around 30 in tall) bear sweetly scented white to pale lilac bell-shaped blooms that rise just above the foliage and attract pollinators. Over time, this cultivar matures to a substantial 2–3 ft tall and spreads 3–4 ft wide, making it ideal as a specimen, groundcover, or bold border accent in Zones 2–9.
