Veronicastrum virginicum - Fascination

A tall, architectural Culver’s root, Veronicastrum virginicum ‘Fascination’ produces elegant, 12–15 in (30–38 cm) racemes of lavender-pink to pale blue-purple flowers atop sturdy whorled stems from July to early autumn. Its upright, candelabra-like habit reaches 4–5 ft (120–150 cm) tall and about 2 ft (60 cm) wide, lending dramatic vertical structure to perennial borders or prairie-style plantings. Thriving in full sun to part shade in moist, well‑drained soil—including clay or sandy—it is adaptable and deer-resistant, plus butterfly- and bee-attracting, excellent for rain gardens, meadow landscapes, or cut-flower use. Long-lived and low-maintenance, with foliage that develops a reddish tinge and winter seed heads adding seasonal interest.
