The earliest flowering, most heat tolerant climbing sweet peas available. Spectacular! Grows to 45cm (18") tall.
How to Grow
Plants bloom late spring to late fall! Select a site with deep, well-drained soil in full sun Sow April and early May when the soil becomes workable but is still quite cool. Soak seeds overnight in water then sow seed 12mm (1/2") deep about 5cm (2") apart - germination can take up to 20 days. Thin to 10cm (4") apart when they are 7.5cm (3") tall. Keep well watered and fed through the year with a 20-20-20 or 15-30-15 water soluble fertilizer. Plants will often have reduced flowering during the heat of summer but will once again flower prolifically with the return of moderate temperatures in late summer. A couple of hours of mid-afternoon shade can be beneficial in hot summer areas.
