Viola cornuta - Etain

A charming tufted viola, Viola cornuta ‘Etain’ produces extra-large, pale lemon-yellow blooms edged with delicate lavender-purple margins that deepen as temperatures rise. This low-growing evergreen perennial forms neat mounds of glossy, mid-green foliage reaching 6–8 in (15–20 cm) tall and 10–12 in (25–30 cm) wide. Exceptionally floriferous from late spring to early summer, it continues to rebloom sporadically through fall, emitting a sweet, light fragrance that appeals to butterflies. Thriving in part to full shade with moist, well-drained soil, it's low-maintenance, deer-resistant, and perfect for borders, containers, woodland edges, or fragrant groundcover.
