Thymus vulgaris
Thyme seeds produce a tasty herb the compliments poultry and strong flavoured game dishes and is used extensively in stews, sauces. and marinades. Thyme grows relatively slowly at first, but grows vigorously once established. A fantastic plant for use in pollinator gardens as the flowers produce high quality nectar and pollen from which honey bees produce intensely fragrant and flavourful honey.

Growing Instructions:
Sow seed outdoors in mid to late May, then every two weeks through June, or start them inside and transplant out after the danger of frost has passed. Thyme is a low maintenance plant and prolific once established. It thrives in bright, hot gardens. The ideal soil temperature for germination is 15-21°C (60-70°F). Sow the dust-like seeds on the surface of a dampened, sterilized seed starting mix under bright light with bottom heat.
