Anemone ā€œBlanda Blue Starā€ is a very attractive tuberous perennial that provides drifts of large, intense blue flowers, up to 6 cm in size. Loved by bees and other pollinators, ā€œBlanda Blue Starā€ spreads readily, creating an elegant floral carpet across your garden bed! To be planted in the fall (Sept-Dec) in preparation for a spring bloom (Mar-Apr). In moist soil, plant the bulbs 3ā€ deep, leaving 2ā€ of space between each bulb. Also known as ā€œGrecian Windflowerā€, anemones grow best in partial shade, however, they can tolerate sun as long as they receive adequate water. Ideal for USDA hardiness zones 4 through 8. Be aware that anemones are poisonous to pets and humans if ingested in large quantities. This deer-resistant variety is the perfect groundcover for pairing with larger flowers in containers, rock gardens, woodland paths, or spring flower beds!

I am very disappointed.

"I live just west of Toronto, ON Canada, zone 6a. I bought a large pack of anemones last Fall, 2023. I followed the planting instructions written on the packaging. The instructions said to plant the corms in the Fall in sunny area. I was expecting lots of blooms in mid Spring 2024. But out of about 40 corm, only 4 plants made it. If I give them one more try, when should I be planting them? Fall or Spring? How early or late in Spring? Do I need to start growing them in pots indoors, before planting them in the ground? That would be a lot of pots. Do I need to dig them out in the Fall? I see them in people's lawns. I am sure they are not digging them out before the Winter and replanting them in the Spring."

Very few corms spouted

"In the past, I've grown this variety of anemone from other suppliers with great success. Unfortunately, less than half of the corms from Wildwood that I planted in November 2021 sprouted and of those that did, only a few bloomed. Very disappointing."
