Anemone โ€œBlanda Blue Starโ€ is a very attractive tuberous perennial that provides drifts of large, intense blue flowers, up to 6 cm in size. Loved by bees and other pollinators, โ€œBlanda Blue Starโ€ spreads readily, creating an elegant floral carpet across your garden bed! To be planted in the fall (Sept-Dec) in preparation for a spring bloom (Mar-Apr). In moist soil, plant the bulbs 3โ€ deep, leaving 2โ€ of space between each bulb. Also known as โ€œGrecian Windflowerโ€, anemones grow best in partial shade, however, they can tolerate sun as long as they receive adequate water. Ideal for USDA hardiness zones 4 through 8. Be aware that anemones are poisonous to pets and humans if ingested in large quantities. This deer-resistant variety is the perfect groundcover for pairing with larger flowers in containers, rock gardens, woodland paths, or spring flower beds!
