Anemone “Blanda Blue Star” is a very attractive tuberous perennial that provides drifts of large, intense blue flowers, up to 6 cm in size. Loved by bees and other pollinators, “Blanda Blue Star” spreads readily, creating an elegant floral carpet across your garden bed! To be planted in the fall (Sept-Dec) in preparation for a spring bloom (Mar-Apr). In moist soil, plant the bulbs 3” deep, leaving 2” of space between each bulb. Also known as “Grecian Windflower”, anemones grow best in partial shade, however, they can tolerate sun as long as they receive adequate water. Ideal for USDA hardiness zones 4 through 8. Be aware that anemones are poisonous to pets and humans if ingested in large quantities. This deer-resistant variety is the perfect groundcover for pairing with larger flowers in containers, rock gardens, woodland paths, or spring flower beds!
