Astilbe japonica – Montgomery

A vibrant Japanese astilbe hybrid, ‘Montgomery’ showcases deep magenta-red, feathery plumes rising above glossy green foliage that emerges bronze-tinged in spring. Blooming in early to mid-summer, this compact yet upright perennial (45–61 cm tall) forms a lush mound ideal for shaded borders, containers, or mass plantings. Thrives in consistently moist, acidic to neutral soil under partial to full shade, and is both deer- and rabbit-resistant. Excellent as a cut and dried flower, it also attracts pollinators like bees and butterflies for added garden interest.
