Dryopteris erythrosora - Brilliance

An alluring Autumn Fern, Dryopteris erythrosora ‘Brilliance’ dazzles with bright coppery-red new fronds that mature to glossy green, often re-emerging in warm tones again in fall—providing year-round color. This semi-evergreen fern forms a graceful, vase-shaped mound approximately 18–30 in (45–75 cm) tall and wide, ideal for woodland gardens, containers, or shaded borders. Exceptionally hardy and low-maintenance, it thrives in moist, humus-rich, well-drained soil under part to full shade, tolerates light sun and brief dry periods once established. Resistant to deer and rabbits, and earns accolades like the RHS Award of Garden Merit, it adds vibrant texture and structure to shady landscapes.
