Bergenia – cordifolia

Bold, evergreen clumps of glossy, heart-shaped leaves emerge in early spring, later maturing into clusters of rosy-pink bell flowers on sturdy red stems. The foliage deepens to bronze-purple during cooler months, providing four-season interest and a rich textural backdrop in shade to partial sun gardens. Adaptable and low-maintenance, this clump-forming perennial thrives in moist, well-drained soils and tolerates a wide range, from clay to sandy loams. With deer and rabbit resistance, easy division, and winter-hardiness, it’s ideal for edging, groundcover, woodland borders, or mass plantings.
