Actaea simplex - Atropurpurea

Graceful clumps of dark burgundy-purple, finely divided foliage set the stage for fragrant, creamy-white flower spires on rich purple stems from mid-summer into early fall. ‘Atropurpurea’ thrives in moist, humus-rich soil and part shade to shade, forming an impressive architectural presence that elegantly finishes the summer garden. Ideal for woodland borders, cottage gardens, and shaded perennial beds, it's low-maintenance once established and highly attractive to bees, butterflies, and even hummingbirds. Naturally deer- and rabbit-resistant, this variety is also toxic, so wear gloves when handling.
