Actaea simplex - White Pearl

Elegant clumps of lacy green foliage set the stage for exceptionally long, fragrant creamy-white bottlebrush flower spikes that arch gracefully in late summer into early fall. ‘White Pearl’ is a standout cultivar of Kamchatka bugbane, producing tall, showy blooms up to 5 ft that are perfect for cutting and bring a serene beauty to shady borders. Thriving in moist, humus-rich, well-drained soil, it tolerates part sun to full shade (even light sun in cooler climates) and attracts bees, butterflies, and small birds. Naturally deer- and rabbit-resistant, this slow-to-establish perennial may take a few years to reach full vigor, rewarding patience with long-lasting architectural form—but beware, all plant parts are toxic if ingested.
