The California poppy is not a true poppy but has a similar look and feeling. Blossoms in our mix come in red, cream, orange, gold and pink. Silky cups, 2-3" wide, flutter on finely-cut silvery olive-green foliage. They will blooms from spring into summer, especially in cool weather. Sow seeds where plants are to grow. Great fillers in beds and containers. Plants are drought and heat tolerant and should be space 9-12" apart.
- Enjoy the beautiful blooms of these easy annuals in beds and borders.
- Poppies make wonderful cut flowers. Cut the flower when it is still in bud, and seal the cut end of the stem with a lighted match to prevent rapid water loss.
- Poppies are also excellent flowers for naturalizing in a wildflower meadow.
- Poppies are great for rock gardens.
- Poppies tend to self-sow reliably; leave some spent flowers to develop seeds.
