GLORY OF THE SNOW - FORBSII
- Mid Spring Flowering
- 10 Pack
- Great for naturalizing
- Zone 3
A lovely early blooming variety, Chionodoxa (Glory of the Snow) “Forbesii” is a wonderful choice to be one of the first arrivals to your spring flower garden. Also known as “Blue Giant”, this perennial boasts loose one-sided racemes of up to 8 star-like, upward-facing, six-petaled blue flowers with a diffused margined white eye. The flower’s sprays can be cut for tiny bouquets. A great naturalizer, “Forbesii” will add weeks of colour to your early spring (Mar - Apr) garden. Plant during the fall months (Sept - Dec) in well-draining soil under full sun or partial shade. Plant the bulbs at a depth of 2”, spacing the bulbs 3” apart. Best grown in USDA hardiness zones 3 through 8. “Forbesii” naturalizes well once established and is deer and disease tolerant. Looks great planted in sweeping drifts in woodlands, lawns, under deciduous trees, or as clusters in rock gardens.
