THE GIANT

  • Fall flowering
  • 1 Pack
  • Great for naturalizing
  • Zone 5

One of the tallest (at least 8” in height) and most free-flowering of the colchicums, “The Giant” is a fall-blooming variety which bears up to 10 extra large, funnel-shaped, lavender-pink flowers with a delicate white throat. Resembling crocuses, “The Giant” produces its large, broad green leaves first in the spring before the arrival of its spectacular blooms during the fall (Sept-Oct). A great choice if you want to extend the flowering season of your garden! Looks great in walkways, woodlands, meadows, or among low-growing perennials. Plant the bulbs in well-draining soil, under full sun or partial shade, at a depth of 4”, while also leaving 4” of space between each bulb. The toxic properties of this perennial make it deer resistant, however, be cautioned that all parts of Colchicum “Album” are highly toxic to humans and pets. Wear gloves and wash your hands after handling.
