Gardener's Notes: Start seeds indoors 4-5 weeks before the last frost or sow directly outdoors in spring after the last frost. Grow in fertile, well-drained soil spacing seeds 2 inches apart. When seedlings are well established, thin to stand 6-8 inches apart. Remove old flowers to promote extended blooming. Make several plantings for season-long flowers. In frost-free areas, plant again in fall for early spring flowers.
