Gardener's Notes: In a sunny spot, sow seed directly outdoors in very early spring in frost-free areas or after the last frost in colder areas. Mix seed with sand or peat moss to help spread over the area. Scatter as evenly as possible over loose, fertile, well-drained soil. Rake seedbed to cover seed about 1/4 inch. Water gently but thoroughly and be careful to keep soil moist until seedlings are well established. Additional watering is recommended for continued sequential bloom, especially in hot summer areas.
