Gardener's Notes: Sow directly outdoors in spring after the last frost or start seeds indoors 4 weeks before last frost. Grow in average, well-drained soil spacing seeds 4-6 inches apart. Seedlings grow quickly, transplant when small. Plants tolerate heat, drought and poor soil but grow better with good garden care. For long-lasting cut flowers, cut stems when flowers just opened, place in cool water immediately.
