Alcea rosea
An old-fashioned favorite that features impressive fully double blooms of red, pink, rose, yellow and white clustered on tall stems. Great for background or fence plantings. Blooms the first year from seed. Ht. 5 ft. Hardy zones 3-7.

Gardener's Notes: Start indoors 6-8 weeks before the last spring frost or plant directly outdoors after the last frost. Plant anytime until 2 months before first fall frost. Grow in rich, well-drained soil, spacing seeds 4-6 inches apart. Thin as recommended. Stake plants to protect from wind damage. Cut back spent flower stalks to encourage reblooming. Water and fertilize regularly for rebloom in fall. hardy zones 3-7.
