Gardener's Notes: Erect strong supports at least 8 feet tall at planting time to hold these vigorous climbers. Wait till late spring when nights reach at least 50F (10C) before sowing directly outdoors in a sunny spot in ordinary garden soil. Sow seeds 1/2 inch deep, 3-4 inches apart. Thin seedlings to stand 8 inches apart. Starting midsummer, vines open abundant blossoms every morning until the sun is strong; longer on cloudy days.
