Allium cepa
These jumbo sized, golden-skinned, long day onions are known for their wonderful sweet and mild flavour and extra crunchy white flesh. Giant Golden Sweets are delicious thickly sliced and eaten raw or cooked. High yielding with good disease resistance.

Gardener's Notes: Plant in early spring, just as soon as soil can be worked in fertile, well-drained soil in full sun. Sow seeds 1 inch apart and 1/4 inch deep. Keep soil moist but not soggy. When seedlings are about 3 inches tall, thin seedlings to 4 inches apart. Keep well weeded. Harvest bulbs when tops begin turning yellow and fall over. Dig up bulbs carefully, then dry and cure on top of soil for 7-10 days. Remove tops and store in a cool, dry location.
