Gardener's Notes: Plants thrive in cool weather. In early spring, as soon as ground can be worked, sow seeds 2 inches apart into rich, fertile, well-drained soil. when several inches tall, thin or transplant seedlings 8 inches apart so plants have room to mature. keep well weeded and watered and fertilize several times. Harvest when heads are plump and well filled out. Sow again in late summer for fast growing fall crop.
