Capsicum annuum 'Jalapeño'
USDA organic. Jalapenos are the classic chile peppers for adding flavour and heat to salsa and a wide range of Southwestern dishes. Also great for chile "poppers". You'll have harvests of dark green, thick fleshed peppers about 75 days from transplant.

Gardener's Notes: Start seeds indoors 6 weeks before last spring frost. Sow 1/4 in. deep & 2 in. apart in seed starting mix & keep very warm, 80F (27C). When seedlings have several sets of leaves, transplant into individual containers. When night temps stay above 55F (13C), acclimate seedlings to outdoor conditions before transplanting 18-24 in. apart into fertile, well-drained soil in full sun. Mulch well & fertilize monthly. Pick 3-4 in. long at either green or red color stage.
