A rose of great beauty, with large rosette blooms. Bears large, many petaled, deep pink rosettes, each with a button eye. There is a light-medium strength fruity fragrance. Can be used in beds, borders and large containers.
The weather conditions, while the petals are still forming within the bud, influence the quality and strength of an individual bloom's perfume. Fragrance is intensified by warm, humid weather. A flower smells differently in the morning, at midday, and in the evening.
James L. Austin forms a neat and tidy shrub with a bushy, upright habit. Large deep pink blooms.
Named for the son of David Austin Senior and brother of David Austin Junior.
