PINEAPPLE LILY

The Eucomis Bicolor is a bulbous perennial that produces dense racemes of starry pale green flowers, each bract and tepal rimmed in purple. The plant is native to Southern Africa and is also known as the variegated pineapple lily or just pineapple lily. The plant reaches 30-60 cm in height, with a basal rosette of wavy leaves 30-50 cm long. In late summer, it produces a stout stem often with purple markings. The plant is a great addition to the landscape or containers where it provides vertical dimension and interest with its strange appearance and unique, restful flower color. It is deer resistant, pest free and ridiculously easy to grow.

This Eucomis is a perfect choice for beds and borders or containers. It performs best in full sun in rich, moist and well-drained soils. While part shade is tolerated, flowering may not be as profuse. Remember that great quantities of water must be provided in the summer, and that the regular provision of extra nutrients is not just an added luxury.

Order your Eucomis Bicolor bulbs today and enjoy the beauty and fragrance of this stunning flower in your garden or home.
