Geranium pratense - Dark Reiter

A stunning clump-forming hardy geranium, Geranium ‘Dark Reiter’ (a strain of Geranium pratense) features deeply divided, plum-purple foliage that forms a compact mound 20–25 cm (8–10 in) tall. From early summer into late summer, it blooms clusters of bright lilac-blue, saucer-shaped flowers that contrast beautifully with dark leaves. Thriving in full sun to part shade in moist, well-drained soil, this variety tolerates drought once established and adapts well even to alkaline soils. Deer- and rabbit-resistant, it attracts bees and butterflies, making it a striking, wildlife-friendly choice for containers, borders, rock gardens, or groundcover.
