Miscanthus giganteus
A towering, bamboo-like ornamental grass, Miscanthus × giganteus forms massive clumps of deep green, arching foliage up to 10 ft in height. In late summer to early fall, feathery, silvery-tan plumes rise above the foliage, later aging to autumnal bronze and tan, and standing through winter as striking structural elements. A sterile, non-invasive hybrid, it's hardy, drought and salt tolerant, making it ideal for windy sites, coastal settings, or large privacy screens. With minimal care—just an annual spring trim—this durable, architectural grass offers year-round drama and excellent wildlife and erosion control benefits.
