Helleborus - Ballard Strain

A heritage Lenten rose bred from Helen Ballard’s legendary hybrids—‘Ballard Strain’ features glossy evergreen foliage topped in late winter to early spring with large, bowl-shaped flowers in captivating shades of white, pink, maroon, purple, and yellow. The blooms face outward, revealing speckled or solid tones that bring vibrant color to shaded borders during colder months. Semi-evergreen and deer-resistant, this clump-forming variety thrives in part to full shade in moist, well-drained soil, adding long-lasting winter interest and cut-flower value. Hardy and low-maintenance, it brings early-season elegance and a touch of horticultural history to woodland gardens.
