Hosta fortunei - Aureomarginata
A classic shade perennial, Hosta ‘aureomarginata’ (a form of H. fortunei) forms a lush mound of deep green, ovate leaves edged with irregular creamy-white margins. In midsummer, tall scapes (31–45″/80–115 cm) rise above the foliage, bearing pale lavender, trumpet-shaped flowers that are loved by hummingbirds and bees. This vigorous, clump-forming plant reaches approximately 24–36″ (60–90 cm) wide and 18–24″ (45–60 cm) tall—though it can ultimately span 40–56″ (100–140 cm) under ideal conditions. Perfect for brightening part- to full-shade locations in borders, woodland gardens, or window boxes, it's low-maintenance in rich, consistently moist soil.
