Hosta – Francee

A classic white‑margined hosta, Hosta fortunei ‘Francee’ features glossy, heart-shaped deep-green leaves edged in narrow, painterly white margins for stunning contrast in shaded gardens. In mid to late summer, pale lavender bell‑shaped blooms rise on tall scapes (up to 30 in/76 cm), elegantly above the foliage and attracting hummingbirds and butterflies. This vigorous, easy-care perennial forms a dense mound about 18–24 in (45–60 cm) tall and spreads approximately 36–48 in (90–120 cm) wide—ideal for massing, borders, or containers. Hardy from Zones 2–9, ‘Francee’ thrives in part to full shade in rich, moist, well‑drained soil and shows tolerance for clay, black walnut, and some sun without fading the variegation.
