Hosta – Frosted Mouse Ears
A charming and diminutive hosta cultivar, Hosta ‘Frosted Mouse Ears’ forms a petite, neat mound of thick, round leaves (~2.5″ across) with glaucous blue-green centers edged by wide creamy-white margins that emerge golden-yellow in spring and fade to white by midsummer. In early summer the clump sends up short (≈12″) scapes of lavender tubular flowers that attract hummingbirds and bees. It grows slowly and steadily in moist, well-drained soil under bright shade or partial sun, thriving best when not crowded by larger plants.
