Humulus lupulus - Cascade (Common Hop)
Humulus lupulus ‘Cascade’ is a vigorous perennial climbing hop that produces lush, deeply lobed green foliage and aromatic, pale green hop cones. This fast-growing twining vine can climb approximately 4.5–6 m (15–20 ft.) in a single season, making it an excellent choice for covering sturdy trellises, arbours, pergolas, and fences. Female plants develop distinctive cone-like flowers in summer that mature into fragrant hops with the floral and citrus character for which ‘Cascade’ is well known. Hardy and adaptable, this deciduous perennial performs best in full sun with fertile, moist, well-drained soil and strong vertical support.
