Hakonechloa macra - All Gold

A stunning shade-loving Japanese forest grass with arching blades that glow chartreuse in spring and mature to bright gold through summer. This compact mound adds soft, cascading texture under trees or in containers, reaching about 9–14 in tall with an 18–24 in spread. In late summer, airy tan flower panicles appear just above the foliage, followed by golden hues that last into fall. Evergreen in milder climates and deer-resistant with minimal care, it brings vibrant, all-season interest to woodland gardens.
