Lavandula × intermedia - Grosso

A vigorous and highly fragrant lavandin hybrid, ‘Grosso’ is prized for its lush deep violet-blue flower spikes up to 15 cm (6 in) long atop a mound of silvery-gray foliage, blooming from mid to late summer, often reblooming in mild climates. A robust performer, it grows to approximately 60–90 cm (24–36 in) tall and wide, with long stems that make it especially suited for cutting and drying for sachets or essential oil production. Adaptable to harsh, dry conditions once established, Grosso thrives in full sun, well-drained sandy or poor soils, and resists deer, rabbits, drought, and many pests while attracting bees and butterflies as a pollinator favorite.
