Lavandula angustifolia - Munstead

A compact and fragrant classic of English lavender, ‘Munstead’ forms a tidy mounded shrub of silvery-gray narrow foliage, growing approximately 30–45 cm (12–18 in) tall and up to 60 cm (24 in) wide. In mid to late summer, it produces spikes of delicate lavender-purple flowers above the foliage, prized for fresh bouquets, dried arrangements, sachets, and herbal crafts. This cultivar is one of the hardiest English lavenders (Zones 4–9), and thrives in full sun with exceptionally well-drained soil, preferring dry to moderate moisture and alkaline to neutral pH. Naturally deer- and rabbit-resistant, drought-tolerant once established, and a pollinator magnet, it is ideal for edges, containers, fragrant gardens, and sensory landscapes
