Allium porrum
The Tadorna Leek is a medium length winter variety prized for its ability to hold well during colder months. Plant April/May to ensure the plants have sufficient time to bulk up before the first frost. Planting into a 30 cm deep trench and slowly filling this in will produce long, tender white stems and also assist the plant in overwintering.
