Filipendula - Red Umbrellas

A stunning dwarf meadowsweet hybrid from Japan, Filipendula ‘Red Umbrellas’ develops lush, maple-shaped sea green leaves heavily veined in crimson that turn lighter as blooms emerge. In mid-summer, airy clusters of fragrant, cotton-candy pink flowers atop 25–30 in stems float above the foliage like delicate clouds. This compact, clump-forming perennial thrives in moist to wet soils, tolerates clay and soggy sites, and prefers morning sun or part shade, making it an excellent choice for rain gardens, streamside plantings, or cottage borders. Loved by pollinators and prized for cut flowers, it remains low-maintenance and deer-resistant—a captivating addition to any garden.
