Sow seeds in a sunny site with good drainage in April and early May in cool soil. Soak seeds overnight in water before sowing 12mm (1/2in) deep and 5cm (2in) apart. Germination can take up to 20 days. Thin to 10cm (4in) apart after seedlings are 8cm (3in) tall.
