Physalis peruviana
Also called Cape Gooseberry, these plants grow to 2 metres tall producing loads of pretty orange fruit in papery husks. Both decorative and delicious, this is a large variety that benefits from the heat of a greenhouse for best production. Fruit are versatile – delicious eaten fresh, cooked in baking and jams, and they also ripen well off the plant.
