Papaver orientale - Patty's Plum

Papaver orientale ‘Patty’s Plum’ captivates the garden with its richly hued, crepe‑textured blooms in deep plum‑purple shades, each petal adorned with dramatic, near‑black blotches and dark purple stamens. In late spring to early summer, these large, solitary, cup‑shaped flowers emerge atop tall, erect stems cloaked in silvery‑green, finely dissected foliage—offering both elegance and architectural presence. A robust, long-lived perennial, it thrives in full sun and well-drained soils, is deer-resistant, and makes a superb cut or dried flower.
