The Purple Beauty Sweet Pepper is a uniquely coloured, open-pollinated variety that instantly adds visual appeal to your garden and your plate. The compact, bushy plants are highly productive, loaded with blocky, 3-4 lobed fruits. These thick-walled peppers mature from green to variable hues of purple in approximately 75 days from transplanting. When the desired purple is reached, pick as soon as possible. Peppers will turn red eventually. Averaging 8 cm to 10 cm in length, they possess a wonderful sweet, mild flavour that complements any dish, fresh or cooked.

What you need to know to Plant & Grow

Sweet peppers must be started early indoors and require high heat to thrive and produce ripe fruit.

Sow Indoors: Start seeds indoors 8 to 10 weeks before the last expected frost date. Use a soilless growing mix.

Germination: Seed typically germinates in 10 to 20 days. Maintaining the growing medium at a temperature of 21 °C will enhance germination.

Transplanting: Transplant seedlings after hardening off, in late May to early June, to a location with Full Sun and rich, well-drained soil.

The bushy plant habit may reduce the need for staking, but support can be provided if fruits are particularly heavy. Control weeds and avoid high nitrogen fertilizers. Harvest Time is approximately 75 days after transplanting for mature purple fruit.
