Thyme - Thymus praecox coccineus

A vibrant, evergreen groundcover forming a low‑growing mat of glossy, dark‑green foliage just 2–5 cm high with a spread of 30–45 cm. In early to mid‑summer it’s smothered in small magenta‑red to rose‑pink tubular blooms that nearly obscure the leaves, releasing a spicy thyme fragrance when walked on. This cultivar is exceptionally drought‑tolerant once established, thrives on full sun and very well‑drained soil, and withstands light foot traffic. The flowers are rich in nectar, attracting bees and butterflies, and the plant is widely deer‑ and rabbit‑resistant.
