Toad Lily - Tricyrtis latifolia

Tricyrtis latifolia, known as the Yellow or Early Toad Lily, is a charming, shade-loving perennial prized for its early-season golden-yellow flowers speckled with reddish-brown. With upright stems reaching around 2 feet tall and forming a clump about 2 feet wide, it brings subtle yet striking contrast to woodland gardens. This species blooms notably earlier than most toad lilies—often in early summer—setting it apart with its warm-toned blooms and chartreuse foliage. Its restful elegance and ease of care make it a valuable addition for gardeners seeking late-season interest in shaded spaces.
