Trollius europaeus - Superbus

A radiant late‑spring perennial, Trollius europaeus 'Superbus' (commonly known as Globeflower) showcases striking lemon‑yellow, globe‑shaped blooms about 2″ (5 cm) across, sitting elegantly above finely divided dark-green foliage. Upright stems rise to 18–24″ (45–60 cm), with a compact spread of 18–20″ (45–50 cm), making it perfect for damp borders, rain gardens, or pond edges. Exceptionally hardy (zones 2–7) and adaptable, this cultivar tolerates richer soils and even drier conditions compared to other Trollius selections, while thriving in moist, humus-rich environments. An Award of Garden Merit winner (RHS) with low-maintenance needs, it reliably attracts butterflies, bees, and adds early-season brightness to woodland or cottage-style plantings.
