Chelone - obliqua
A statuesque, clump-forming perennial, Chelone obliqua—commonly called Twisted Shell Flower or Pink Turtlehead—boasts upright spikes of dusky deep-pink, two-lipped, turtle-head-like blooms. Reaching 24–36″ tall and spreading 12–24″ wide, it fills rain gardens, borders, and woodland areas with vertical interest from late summer into fall. The dark green, lance-shaped foliage remains attractive all season, and the blooms draw butterflies, bees, and hummingbirds while being largely ignored by deer and rabbits.
